Andy Teakel finishes at the Devils

After 219 games,  Andy Teakel has finished playing for the Devils. At the recent presentation night the Club thanked and wished him well and presented him with a picture frame of his highlights. Having recently moved to Seaford, he felt it was time to play footy in his new local community.

A 2 time senior premiership player (2008, 2014), Andy was Senior captain from 2012 to 2015, Senior Best & Fairest in 2011 and named in the EFL team of the year 4 times including as Captain in 2014.

We will miss Andy on & off the field as his contribution and leadership has been significant for many years and he is sure to do well in whatever he does. We will always consider Andy Teakel a champion of the Devils and he is always welcome at our club.

Senior Coach to change for 2019

Wantirna South Football club will have a new Senior coach for 2019.
It was intended that 2018 Senior coach Jess Sinclair would continue, however due to his intention to relocate to Queensland, both the club and Jess decided it was in the players interest to seek out a new mentor to take over the role.
The club is disappointed to lose Jess as his football nous is outstanding and he led the team to be very competitive this season.
Many players got an opportunity to play Senior football (42) under Jess this year too and he has created a solid foundation for an improvement of results in 2019.
Jess leaves with our friendship and best wishes for him and his family. He will be attending the presentation night later this month, where we can all thank him for his contribution to the Devils.

Zak Stone – First Senior Game

Well Done to Zak Stone ! Selected to play in his first Senior Team game for the Devils this Saturday. This is a crunch game for the Club against UFTG and Senior Coach Jess Sinclair has been impressed with Zak’s form in the u19’s and wanted him in.

A former Junior Devil, the 17 year old Zak has shown he has the goods to play Senior footy in Div 2. We are just so glad he plays for the Devils. Enjoy it Zak.
