Life Member – Rick “Jingles” Moloney

Congratulations to Rick “Jingles” Moloney who was last night named a Life Member of Wantirna South Football Club – The Devils.

After joining the club as an U18 player in 1997, Rick went on to be an excellent senior player including being a Senior Premiership player in 2004 and was named at Full Back in the Team of the Decade of 2001 -2010 The club’s most successful era.

Since retiring from playing, Rick’s enthusiasm, care and leadership of particularly the players has been tireless and very effective. Rick has a “can do” attitude to everything he does, and his contribution to the Devils over many years has been significant and benefited many people.

Rick is the Club’s current Vice President – Football Director, and has served on the committee the past 4 years. Well done to Rick and thank you to his wife Lisa for her great support.

Senior Coach to change for 2019

Wantirna South Football club will have a new Senior coach for 2019.

It was intended that 2018 Senior coach Jess Sinclair would continue, however due to his intention to relocate to Queensland, both the club and Jess decided it was in the players interest to seek out a new mentor to take over the role.

The club is disappointed to lose Jess as his football nous is outstanding and he led the team to be very competitive this season.

Many players got an opportunity to play Senior football (42) under Jess this year too and he has created a solid foundation for an improvement of results in 2019.

Jess leaves with our friendship and best wishes for him and his family. He will be attending the presentation night later this month, where we can all thank him for his contribution to the Devils.
